Sydney

When it comes to an exciting place to visit and live, Sydney has everything. When it comes to history, archaeologists have uncovered evidences of ancient peoples living in the area for thousands of years, and, then, Sydney was the spot first settled as a British colony in Australia. Of course, the harbor has the two most famous landmarks of the country, the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. Besides having an active city life and fabulous restaurants, entertainment and shopping, the area has fine beaches and national parks where people can enjoy nature, wildlife, and outdoor sports.

Great Ocean Road

For an excellent road trip, travelers can stop in Melbourne and then head for B100, which is the Great Ocean Road, the largest of historical memorials in the world. The road is significant because World War I soldiers built it in remembrance of those who died in that war. Today, this highway is a wonderful way to enjoy the coast, national parks and reserves, and the seaside towns. The towns have comfortable accommodation for visitors. Torquay is at the beginning of the road and offers great golfing with lovely ocean views. Then, the Great Otway National Park provides walking trails, forests, wildlife and beaches. The Twelve Apostles off the coast of Port Campbell are famous as national landmarks. All along the road, spectacular sites greet the eye.

Northwest

One of the best regions for a truly Australian outback experience, the northwest has rugged terrain, waterfalls, beaches, and caves with historic Aboriginal art. The natural wilderness is fresh, serene and a wonderful place for day or extended adventures, backpacking, camping, rock climbing and many more sport and leisure pursuits. Lake Argyle offers great fishing, boating and wildlife watching.

East Coast

On the east coast, people enjoy spending time exploring the Great Barrier Reef and local islands in the vicinity that have white sandy beaches.
